Day of our Unsung Heroes


      As we commemorate the lives of unsung heroes who fought on the Day of Valour, Tatler sums up everything that happened in the Philippines this day 79 years ago.The Day of Valour, also known as the Araw ng Kagitingan, commemorates the Filipino and American soldiers who stood up against Japanese forces during World War II.The Day of Valor is a public holiday. It is a day off for the general population, and schools and most businesses are closed.

     The celebration of Araw ng Kagitingan is also a salute to the heroism of our frontliners.Paying tribute not only to the veterans of World War II who served as heroes then but also to the brave frontliners who are also considered heroes in today’s era of pandemic.This celebration is also a call to revive courage and the culture of heroism and love for the country, and prepare the Filipino youth as defenders and leaders of the country in the future.On this occasion let us make them feel our

gratitude for their sacrifice and their gambling of life. Let us not forget that in their bravery shown during the war because it is a proof that the Filipino race is great. Let us give our respect and honor to the veterans who in their youth served the country.May this day be an inspiration to every Filipino. In the midst of poverty and turmoil in the country and in the world, let our faith in the ability of the Filipinos remain as strong as the faith of the veterans in Bataan and Corregidor.

     


Today, we are facing pandemic we also salute all those frontliners for their bravery in facing this Covid-19 disease, they risked their lives for their countrymen to fight Covid-19.
